The core of Austin’s technology ecosystem is silicon and software. These sectors are at the core of ATI. We have been helping develop exciting new silicon and software companies since our founding in 1989. We continue to do so through our IT vertical. ATI supports its IT companies by drawing on the deep networks that ATI has formed in these areas over the past 18 years. We surround each newly admitted IT company with a “virtual board” of experienced IT executives and successful entrepreneurs. And we help prepare our IT companies for targeted and successful introductions to knowledgeable sources of risk capital, both locally and nationally. Some of our recent IT graduates include BuildForge and Webify (both bought by IBM in 2006), and Molecular Imprints. Current IT companies include Phurnace Software and Xitronix (a nano-scale metrology company.) We also support Austin’s emerging Digital Media and Medical Devices sectors through our IT program. We find that the technologies and networks often overlap and reinforce. If you are an IT company with a dedicated management team and a potentially disruptive technology, we look forward to working with you. |
