Xitronix Secures $500,000 ETF Grant

AUSTIN, Texas (March 27, 2008) – The Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce and the Central Texas Center of Innovation and Commercialization (Cen Tex RCIC) announced today the State of Texas has chosen Xitronix Corporation Inc, a portfolio member company of the Austin Technology Incubator, a key program of the IC2 Institute at The University of Texas at Austin, as a recipient of $500,000 funded through the Texas Emerging Technology Fund (ETF).

Xitronix is a measurement and inspection company providing semiconductor manufacturers with tools that allow them to directly, rapidly and non-destructively characterize the electronic and optical properties of semiconductor nanostructures during the manufacturing process. The Xitronix industry solution allows manufacturers to accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies into full-volume production, allowing them to maximize yield and profitability.  “We are eager to bring our revolutionary tool to the semiconductor manufacturing market,” Judd Chism said. “The ETF grant will help speed up our time to market.”

Xitronix was accepted as a member of the Austin Technology Incubator (ATI) in November 2006 and raised an additional $500,000 in early 2007. "Being an ATI member gave us immediate validation of the technology through myriad experts at The University of Texas and in the private sector, as well as access to top-notch talent, business networks and preferred access to capital, including the Texas Emerging Technology Fund,” said Judd Chism, CEO of Xitronix.

“We congratulate Xitronix on obtaining the ETF grant,” said Isaac Barchas, executive director of ATI. “Accelerating time to capital through ATI’s access to grant programs, angel and VC networks, and funding events gives our member companies the necessary support to help them transition from early stage ventures to successful technology businesses.”
